Job Summary

The Weapons Engineering Directorate at Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our team as post-bachelor interns in various sub-disciplines. As a post-bachelor intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience under the guidance of a mentor with extensive experience in the field and further your academic and professional goals.

About the Role

As a post-bachelor intern, you will be responsible for contributing to the future of national security by working on projects that integrate the stockpile stewardship program and weapons engineering and testing. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, including:

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of new technologies and systems
  • Conducting research and analysis to support the Laboratory's mission
  • Collaborating with other teams and stakeholders to achieve project goals

Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, you must have:

  • Graduated from an accredited post-secondary institution within the past three academic years
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Not be accepted into a graduate program

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following qualifications will be most competitive:

  • Laboratory experience, including attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in a professional context
  • Commitment to achieving results in complex social and organizational settings
  • Advanced knowledge of various computer systems and software
  • Ability to find unique solutions to complex issues
