Job Purpose & Scope

As a Residential Real Estate Appraisal Officer I, you will be responsible for managing a pipeline of non-complex valuation projects across all property types. Your key responsibilities will include scoping valuation projects, engaging external appraisers, and reviewing appraisal reports to ensure our originations and special asset management teams have credible valuation reports and reliable collateral values for decision-making purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform reviews of non-complex residential real estate projects to determine the credibility of the valuation report as to the market value opinion.
  • Communicate with originations personnel to understand the financing request and collateral property characteristics for valuation scoping purposes.
  • Ensure appraisal reports comply with Bank policy and engagement letter terms.
  • Follow federal and state regulatory requirements, including USPAP and FIRREA.
  • Evaluate value reconsiderations requested by originations, credit, and special assets personnel.
  • Assist with the recruitment of residential real estate valuation vendors and assessment of vendor performance.
  • Ensure compliance with department procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Regularly exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.
  • Maintain good punctuality and attendance to work.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent or commensurate work experience, required; Associate degree, preferred.
  • State Registered Trainee/Apprentice Appraiser License, required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years real estate related work experience, required.
  • 500 hours of qualifying state certified work experience, required.
