Maintenance Technician Job Description

Providence Real Estate is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of our property buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily repairs and upkeep of the property
  • Maintain the grounds daily, assisting the groundskeeper as needed
  • Prepare vacant units for occupancy
  • Care for, maintain, and inventory all supplies and equipment owned by the property and/or management company
  • Supply and maintain personal tools required by PPM and its affiliated companies for Maintenance Technician
  • Report unusual and extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times
  • Clean work area, tools, and equipment
  • Respond to emergencies in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Operate within OSHA standards and company safety policies
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of management company policies and property community policies
  • Seek educational opportunities and self-improvement for personal growth and development
  • Maintain current HVAC Certification
  • Assist in maintaining the general upkeep of the Property Pool and its equipment
  • Be available to work on an on-call basis
  • Secure the maintenance shop(s) at the close of every work day

Requirements:

  • One to three years of related experience in residential maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • HVAC Certification is required, CPO Certification is helpful
