Toyota Financial Services (TFS) plays a crucial role in our operations, providing finance and insurance solutions for Toyota and Lexus in North America. Although TFS operates as a distinct entity, it is integral to our vision of transforming mobility. Position Overview

We are initiating a new Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team and are seeking a Senior Manager to lead this effort. In this role, you will be tasked with assembling the SRE team and developing effective processes to guarantee the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers with hands-on coding, debugging, and automation implementation to enhance application stability.
  • Encourage a collaborative team environment and promote professional growth.
  • Establish and execute strategies focused on system reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Create Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that align with business objectives.
  • Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and incident management frameworks.
  • Refine disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Lead responses to major incidents and coordinate resolution efforts with stakeholders.
  • Conduct post-incident evaluations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify automation opportunities to optimize operations.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of monitoring and incident management tools.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to achieve reliability goals.
  • Participate in architectural assessments, providing insights on reliability and scalability.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead the new SRE team with clear objectives and performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related discipline, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven experience in team building and management, with a track record of achieving high system reliability and performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Expertise in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash) and familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
  • Strong leadership skills, with exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
