Position Overview
We are in the process of establishing a new Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team within Toyota Financial Services. We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead this initiative. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in forming the SRE team and implementing effective processes to guarantee the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems and applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with hands-on coding, debugging, and automation implementation to create a more stable application environment.
- Encourage a collaborative team atmosphere and support ongoing professional development.
- Develop and execute strategies aimed at enhancing system reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Create Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that align with organizational goals.
- Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and incident management frameworks.
- Establish and refine disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Lead responses to major incidents and coordinate resolution efforts with stakeholders.
- Conduct reviews post-incident to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
- Oversee the development and deployment of monitoring and incident management tools.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to achieve reliability objectives.
- Engage in architectural assessments, providing insights on reliability and scalability.
- Recruit, build, and lead the new SRE team with clear goals and performance metrics.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related discipline, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven experience in team building and management, demonstrating a track record of achieving high system reliability and performance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Expertise in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash) and familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Strong leadership skills, with exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
