At Cordis, we're seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Sales Trainer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training programs for our salesforce.
Reporting to the Manager of Sales Education, this role will play a critical part in equipping our sales team with the knowledge, tools, and techniques needed to bring new technologies to market, sustain legacy business, and succeed in a competitive market.
Culture of Learning:
- Develops strong knowledge of the cardiovascular space, including clinical protocols, procedural overviews, product indications, clinical evidence, and market dynamics.
- Advocates for compliant, on-label, and audit-ready programming while upholding a strong ethical standard to protect learning plans and documentation in accordance with standards of business conduct.
- Articulates complex concepts to a variety of learner audiences.
- Develops a culture of learning in which all teammates are inspired to enhance and self-direct their knowledge.
Learning Plan & Content Development:
- Leads the strategic development of learning plans, dictating the method and modality for how products are trained and applying adult-learning principles.
- Develops training content that is clinical, product, and sales-focused, ensuring a balanced approach to training and best preparing sales teammates to be effective.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop high-quality training materials, including presentations, videos, e-learning modules, and job aids.
- Designs and creates interactive exercises and simulations to reinforce key concepts and enhance learning outcomes.
Training Facilitation:
- Leads and facilitates engaging and interactive training sessions for sales teammates, sales managers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Delivers comprehensive product training, sales techniques, and selling strategies tailored to various audience levels.
- Provides extensive clinical training to ensure sales teammates can effectively communicate and educate on the clinical benefits of commercially available medical devices to healthcare professionals.
Needs Assessment & Curriculum Design:
- Conducts thorough needs assessments to identify gaps in knowledge and skill levels within the sales organization.
- Develops comprehensive training curricula and learning paths to address identified needs and support career development.
- Works closely with manager, education leadership, and sales leadership to align training initiatives with business objectives and sales targets, maintaining an equal focus on clinical support and selling capabilities.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:
- Implements evaluation metrics and assessments to measure the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyzes training data and feedback to make data-driven decisions and refine training strategies.
- Stays current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in sales education and clinical education, ensuring a balanced and up-to-date approach to training initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, education, clinical, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a learning and development role in the medical device industry and supporting a sales organization.
- Experience in cardiovascular and/or endovascular market preferred.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing successful sales education programs that drive measurable results.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training evaluation techniques.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into actionable training strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, learning management systems (LMS), and sales enablement platforms (VR, simulation, coaching).
- Ability to travel at least 30% of the time and as determined by direct manager.
