Position Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Nurse Manager (RN or LPN) for our Vancouver - Fourth Plain Medical Clinic. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic, working closely with the Health Center Administrator and Clinical Director. The Nurse Manager will be responsible for overseeing both clinical and administrative functions of the nursing staff within the clinic. Ideal candidates will possess empathy, calmness, passion, and a strong motivation to positively impact community health. A solid understanding of the Social Determinants of Health and their implications in Community Health Care is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and assess a team of approximately 10-12 Medical Assistants (MA), including MA supervisors.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Health Center Administrator to implement nursing policies and procedures that align with Sea Mar's standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct monthly audits (NPSG audits, etc.) and demonstrate a thorough understanding of State and Federal Regulations applicable to health centers or hospitals.
  • Direct clinic initiatives focused on quality measures, HEDIS, and Meaningful Use standards.
  • Facilitate annual training sessions for Medical Assistants covering topics such as infection control and sterilization techniques.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for Medical Assistants and participate in the hiring process for additional support staff.
  • Manage and maintain a patient care system for nurse-only visits.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with an active RN or BSN license in Washington State.
  • LPNs may be considered if they have equivalent experience that meets the qualifications.
  • Completion of state-mandated HIV education is required.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification within 90 days of hire and maintain current certification throughout employment.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), active listening, and team-building abilities are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and coaching skills.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a self-motivated attitude are advantageous.
