About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Assistant I to join our team at CentraState Healthcare System. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a full range of technical activities in support of and under the general supervision of a Laboratory Technician, Technologist or Laboratory Supervisor.
  • Obtain and/or receive laboratory specimen; prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Assist with and/or perform standardized testing procedures using both manual and automated methods under general supervision.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area.
  • Enter and retrieve patients' data accurately, utilizing the laboratory computer system.
  • Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform instrument maintenance.
  • Participate in the internal/external quality assurance, performance improvement activities and programs.
Requirements
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Specific Certification related to position or Associates Degree/Technical Degree in related field.
  • 0-3 years of prior experience.
  • Responsible for accurately and responsively performing varied clinical tasks and problems of minimal complexity.
  • Works under the supervision of more experienced lab/diagnostic staff and/or patient-facing staff.
  • Makes decisions regarding own work, often limited and confined to routine matters.
