Mechanical Equipment Assembler

Position Overview
As a Mechanical Equipment Assembler, your primary responsibility will be the comprehensive assembly and testing of stainless steel laboratory apparatus utilizing hand tools. Daily tasks will involve interpreting and executing blueprints or schematics with precision. You will also be tasked with diagnosing and rectifying issues, demonstrating sound judgment in the selection of tools, materials, and equipment.
Physical Requirements
This role necessitates the capability to lift weights ranging from 50 to 75 lbs.
Working Hours
The standard working hours for this position are from 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of extended hours.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in product assembly
- Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and bills of materials
- Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues
- Competent in selecting appropriate tools, materials, and equipment
- Physical capability to lift 50 to 75 lbs
Interpersonal Skills
- Demonstrates good judgment
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
Employment Type
This position is classified as Contract-to-Hire, with an initial duration of 90 days.
Work Environment
The work setting is a clean and organized sheet metal facility. The environment is not temperature-controlled and spans an area of 160,000 sq ft. Safety is paramount, requiring steel-toed boots, and a casual dress code of jeans and t-shirts is permitted. You will be part of a team consisting of approximately 10 individuals.
