Job Overview:
The Mechanical Assembly Technician will execute disassembly, cleaning, requalification, rework, and assembly tasks on Traction Motor Combo components. This role involves utilizing both manual and automated equipment in strict adherence to quality standards.
Safety is paramount, and the technician will support lean manufacturing principles, including practices such as 5S and single-piece flow, to meet required takt times.
Special processes, such as welding or non-destructive testing, may be required, necessitating appropriate training or certification.
Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to all EHS policies and procedures while performing work safely.
Provide manufacturing support for the production or refurbishment of UX Traction Motor Combo components.
Utilize a variety of manual and automated production tools, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, to fulfill responsibilities in line with internal manufacturing and quality protocols, ensuring all products meet established requirements.
Conduct inspections of completed components against internal criteria for quality and engineering compliance, using fixtures, precision measuring devices, and testing protocols.
Ensure processing of components aligns with internal processing standards.
Perform additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred
At least 1 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
Familiarity with EHS policies and procedures
Ability to safely operate manual equipment and hand tools
Proficient in using inspection measurement tools
Understanding of manufacturing and quality procedures related to the assigned product line in a lean manufacturing context
