Job Title: Field Mechanic - Heavy Equipment Specialist

Job Summary:

H&E Equipment Services is seeking a skilled Field Mechanic - Heavy Equipment Specialist to join our team. As a Field Mechanic, you will be responsible for traveling to customer job sites to perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct repairs on heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • On-Site Maintenance and Repairs: Travel to customer job sites to perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct repairs on heavy equipment.
  • Mechanical Expertise: Diagnose and repair mechanical problems, including but not limited to engines, transmissions, and other essential components of heavy machinery.
  • Electrical and Hydraulic Systems: Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, ensuring the proper functioning of equipment.
  • Diesel Systems: Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, addressing issues related to fuel systems, exhaust, and emissions.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance procedures to extend the lifespan of equipment and prevent breakdowns.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and those around you.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, including parts used and work performed.

Requirements:

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of three (3) to seven (7) years of relevant experience is necessary.
  • Driving Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant driving experience is required.
  • Technical Skills: Hard down/major repair skills are a necessity.
  • Training: Factory, vocational, or mechanical training is a plus.
  • Equipment Experience: A history of working with different forms of heavy equipment, specifically excavators, forklifts, compactors, and other types of aerial and earthmoving equipment.
