JOB TITLE: Member Experience Staff

REPORTS TO: Program Director and/or as assigned

FLSA TYPE: Non-Exempt, Hourly

JOB PURPOSE:

Under the guidance of the designated supervisor, the Member Experience Staff will oversee all responsibilities related to the front desk operations and may also engage with members on the fitness floor in select locations. This role emphasizes delivering exceptional service to our members while promoting member retention through outstanding customer relations. All personnel are expected to collaborate effectively with colleagues to meet the YMCA's objectives and goals. Additionally, staff must be well-versed in safety protocols and risk management practices.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (not an exhaustive list):
  1. Interpret and implement all policies set forth by the YMCA to members, participants, and staff.
  2. Uphold the YMCA's image through personal compliance with all policies.
  3. Process payments, conduct daily financial deposits, and manage shift openings and closings within membership software.
  4. Generate reports as required.
  5. Address emergency situations promptly using trained skills.
  6. Handle member concerns with respect and understanding.
  7. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all necessary records.
  8. Maintain a secure environment in all member areas, including common spaces and locker rooms.
  9. Assume a leadership role during any emergencies occurring within the facility.
  10. Enforce membership rules and policies to safeguard all members, guests, and employees.
Requirements

Required:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to interact positively with others.
  • Experience with various computer software applications.
  • Strong data entry capabilities.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid/O2 Certification.
Preferred:
  • Background in a customer service environment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
