This position encompasses multiple roles within Dining and Hospitality, providing essential support to Dining Operations and adapting to diverse job assignments. Flexibility and versatility are key attributes for success in this role.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in meal preparation, hospitality services, and food delivery, including serving meals, waiting tables, and clearing tables.
  • Execute defined work routines utilizing various dining utensils, supplies, and equipment.
  • Adhere to all sanitation protocols, federal and state regulations, and Senior Living / Healthcare standards.
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and perform cleaning tasks as required.
  • Open and close kitchen and dining areas as necessary.
  • Wash and properly store dishes and utensils.
  • Assist in the receipt and storage of food and supplies.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Food Handler's Permit is mandatory.
  • Training in Servsafe is advantageous.
  • Preferred experience includes at least one (1) year in food service, covering areas such as serving, cleaning, and basic food preparation.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The ideal candidate must:

  • Communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with residents and staff.
  • Read and comprehend written instructions and safety practices.
  • Exhibit a friendly and congenial demeanor with residents.
  • Demonstrate dependability, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Work within established policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently and respond calmly in emergencies.
  • Show patience and compassion towards senior adults.
  • Prioritize resident comfort, safety, and security.
  • Maintain a tidy work area and adhere to grooming standards.
  • Possess knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and serving principles.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role may require:

  • Lifting or carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, and prolonged periods of walking or standing.
  • Performing tasks that involve standing, sitting, twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Having adequate vision and hearing to fulfill job responsibilities.
