The Culinary Services Team Member is responsible for executing various tasks related to food service, sanitation, and hospitality within the dining department, reporting directly to the Director of Dining.

This position encompasses multiple roles within Dining and Hospitality, providing essential support to our operations and adapting to diverse job assignments. It is a dynamic role that requires flexibility and a willingness to engage in various tasks.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in meal preparation, hospitality tasks, and service delivery, including food serving, table waiting, and clearing.
  • Execute defined work routines utilizing various dining tools, supplies, and equipment.
  • Adhere to all sanitation protocols, federal and state regulations, and requirements specific to Senior Living and Healthcare.
  • Open and close kitchen and dining areas as necessary.
  • Wash and organize dishes and utensils.
  • Support the receiving and storage of food and supplies.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Food Handler's Permit is mandatory.
  • Training in Servsafe is advantageous.
  • Preferred experience of at least one (1) year in food service, including serving, cleaning, and basic food preparation.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) in English with residents and staff.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor with residents.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and capable of following through on tasks.
  • Ability to work within established policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and respond calmly in emergencies.
  • Demonstrate patience and compassion towards senior adults.
  • Respect for residents' comfort, safety, and belongings.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage time efficiently.
  • Maintain a tidy work area and adhere to grooming standards as per organizational and state food code requirements.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, preparation, and serving principles.

This role requires collaboration with all individuals at Covenant Living Communities and Services, fostering positive interactions with employees, residents, families, visitors, vendors, and other healthcare professionals.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • May need to lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent movements including stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, and prolonged periods of walking or standing.
  • Must possess adequate vision and hearing to fulfill job responsibilities.
