We are seeking a Regional HR Manager to support our operations in the Americas region. With a diverse workforce of over 1,100 individuals across 75 countries, our HR function must operate with a global mindset. We are looking for a regional leader who will report to our Global Head of HR and assist in shaping our organization as we pursue our growth ambitions. This is an exciting opportunity to influence and develop an HR function for the future. You will oversee the EMEA team of HR professionals, ensuring precise, compliant, and scalable HR operations, advising on HR matters throughout the employee lifecycle, and collaborating with senior leadership in your region. A data-driven approach, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze trends and themes are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and expand Canonical's regional HR team (1-4 direct reports, depending on the region).
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of HR operations, maintaining compliance and precision.
  • Collaborate closely with Talent Science and Workplace Engineering teams to establish cohesive processes across all HR regions.
  • Oversee HR processes such as talent development, succession planning, performance evaluations, onboarding, and initiatives that foster a high-performance culture.
  • Partner with senior management on performance management, organizational design, employee engagement, rewards, and workforce planning.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to people managers on a wide range of employee relations issues across multiple countries.
  • Work with people managers to facilitate appropriate training and development programs.
  • Establish a trusted partnership with the business in your region.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Design new policies and execute critical HR-related projects on a global scale.
  • Represent Canonical at events to communicate our HR practices.
Qualifications
  • Outstanding academic credentials from both secondary school and university.
  • HR experience leading initiatives across regions within a technology organization.
  • Proven people management experience.
  • Experience in business partnering with senior stakeholders.
  • A balanced approach to leadership and execution, with hands-on involvement in daily HR operations.
  • Experience in a remote-first organization.
  • Able to utilize data for informed decision-making.
  • Knowledge and practical application of HR practices and employment law across the Americas.
  • Fluency in business English (written and spoken).
  • Self-motivated, organized, accurate, confident, authentic, results-oriented, open-minded, enthusiastic, and energetic.
  • Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with immigration policies and mobility processes.
  • Professional HR qualification (CIPD/SHRM or equivalent).
  • Facilitation skills.
