Position Overview:
The Director of Cardiovascular Services is responsible for the strategic planning, organization, and oversight of the Diagnostic Cardiac Services Department. This role involves the formulation, implementation, and assessment of objectives, policies, and procedures pertaining to diagnostic imaging. The director provides essential support to senior management and is tasked with the recruitment, training, and supervision of clinical, technical, and administrative personnel. Additionally, the director is responsible for budget preparation and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and evaluation of department-specific systems aimed at enhancing patient care quality.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
- Oversee the management of departmental budgets and resources.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration among administrative, medical, and clinical staff.
- Train and coordinate the activities of staff and volunteers.
Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of five years in a management role within a related field, with a robust background in Diagnostic Cardiac Services is essential. Familiarity with IAC Standards & Guidelines for Echocardiography Accreditation is advantageous.
Licensure/Certification: Candidates must possess one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Medical Radiological Technologist (MRT) certification is required for Radiology, CT, or Nuclear Medicine roles. Current CPR certification is also mandatory.
Education: An Associate's degree in Applied Sciences in a relevant field is required, along with a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in a related discipline.
