Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Grifols, S.A. as a key member of our Plasma Center Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Center Manager in providing employee supervision, guidance, and troubleshooting, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Donor Center Operations: Responsible for all aspects of the donor center when the Center Manager is not present, ensuring seamless operations and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Creates an organizational environment that stimulates morale and productivity, collaborates with Training and Quality staff to ensure training and quality goals are met, and coaches and leads employees through effective feedback.
  • Quality and Compliance: Monitors and evaluates operations, works with the Center Manager to develop action plans to maximize center efficiency, and ensures compliance with regulatory and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Personnel Management: Responsible for all personnel functions, including hiring, assignment, and direction of work, development and training, disciplinary actions, and termination, as well as maintaining all personnel records.
  • Training and Development: Directs the training activities of production employees through the Training Coordinator and partners with the Center Manager in budget preparation and oversees facility to achieve production targets and quality goals at the agreed-upon cost structure.
  • Inventory Management: Determines the adequacy and adjusts inventory levels of all goods and supplies necessary for the operation of the donor center, compiles and submits orders to vendors to meet determined inventory levels.
  • Facility Maintenance: Assures center employees maintain the facility in a neat and clean condition and all equipment is kept in good working order.
  • Freezer Management: Oversees plasma shipments and equipment failures, answers all freezer alarms, and deals with them appropriately.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Constructs and submits timely and accurate reports on a daily/weekly/monthly or as required basis.
  • Donor Recruitment: Develops and implements active donor recruitment advertising campaigns to improve production levels.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintains thorough familiarity and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved Standard Operating Procedures, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), and Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
  • Leadership and Communication: Builds rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction with the center to support long-term donation, controls center donor funds, and ensures that all financial records are accurate and in order.
  • Risk Management: Minimizes center liability through constant risk management review, investigates all unsafe situations and complaints, develops and implements required corrective actions, and directs and monitors the performance of outside vendors.
  • Special Projects: Reviews and monitors special projects for accuracy and timely completion.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Science, Business, Nursing, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: Typically requires 2 years of related experience in clinical or general business experience, supervisory experience preferred, experience in a medical and/or cGMP regulated environment preferred.
  • Attributes: Developing command of leadership, organizational, customer service, interpersonal communication, and computer abilities, ability to understand and assess FDA regulations, ability to maintain adequate levels of plasma collection and adhere to quality standards, ability to motivate staff to achieve established goals and standards.
