Position Title: Plasma Center Assistant Supervisor

Position Overview:
The Plasma Center Assistant Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the center manager by overseeing employee performance, providing guidance, and ensuring that operational objectives are met in alignment with corporate standards. Adherence to regulatory and corporate policies is vital to guarantee the safety of donors, employees, and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all operations of the donor center in the absence of the Center Manager.
  • Foster a positive organizational culture that enhances workforce morale and productivity.
  • Collaborate with training and quality assurance teams to meet educational and quality benchmarks.
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to employees through Operations Supervisors.
  • Evaluate operational processes and work with the Center Manager to create and implement efficiency improvement plans.
  • Make informed decisions regarding action plan modifications.
  • Manage all personnel-related functions, including recruitment, task assignments, employee development, disciplinary actions, and record maintenance.
  • Coordinate training initiatives for production staff with the Training Coordinator.
  • Assist the Center Manager in budget planning and ensure production targets are met within financial parameters.
  • Review and approve employee schedules to align with donor availability.
  • Delegate responsibilities and hold Operations Supervisors accountable for their performance.
  • Supervise and direct staff effectively.
  • Manage inventory levels of supplies necessary for center operations and place orders as needed.
  • Ensure the facility is maintained in a clean and orderly condition, with all equipment functioning properly.
  • Oversee freezer management, including monitoring plasma shipments and addressing equipment malfunctions.
  • Compile and submit accurate reports on a regular basis.
  • Develop and execute donor recruitment campaigns to enhance production levels.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as FDA-approved procedures and safety standards.
  • Guide key personnel in donor selection and plasma collection to uphold production quality.
  • Build relationships with donors to ensure satisfaction and encourage ongoing donations.
  • Manage financial records related to donor funds accurately.
  • Keep the Center Manager informed of any operational irregularities and propose corrective action plans.
  • Conduct risk management assessments to minimize center liabilities and address unsafe conditions.
  • Supervise the performance of external vendors.
  • Monitor special projects for accuracy and timely completion.
  • Collaborate with the Center Manager to integrate the center's mission within the community.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Science, Business, Nursing, or Finance.
Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in clinical or business settings.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a medical or cGMP regulated environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with plasma or whole blood processes is a plus.
Attributes:
Demonstrated leadership, organizational, customer service, and communication skills. Ability to understand FDA regulations and maintain plasma collection quality standards. Proven ability to motivate staff towards achieving set goals.

Work Environment:
Work is conducted in an office and/or laboratory setting with potential exposure to biological materials and production equipment. Personal protective equipment is required. The role may involve sitting for extended periods, repetitive hand movements, and occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs.
