Position Title: GNOSC Mission Support Team Lead

Description of Duties:

The GNOSC Mission Support Team Lead plays a pivotal role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all aspects of a continuous 24/7 Global Network Operations Center, liaising with the MDA GNOSC event team, managing the GNOSC Enterprise Monitoring Team, and executing Network technician duties in direct support of MDA events, exercises, and wargames.
  • Monitoring the MDA Enterprise Network utilizing Solarwinds and other designated tools.
  • Addressing Remedy Incident Tickets and collaborating with customers to resolve network communication challenges.
  • Coordinating with DISA and DREN to report and rectify network circuit issues.
  • Conducting Layer 1 cable troubleshooting and replacement, as well as Layer 2 port activations.
  • Providing basic OSPF and BGP troubleshooting as required.
  • Provisioning and modifying QoS as necessary to support MDA Events.
  • Performing basic Firewall troubleshooting under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Researching and documenting event-supporting network architecture from data repositories and network configurations.
  • Executing monitoring and surveillance of network, system, and cloud systems, as well as environmental monitoring and incident management in MDA Cybersecurity.
  • Supporting service maintenance activities, including Change Management coordination during assigned shifts.
  • Developing event products and maintaining event baselines before and during events.
  • Managing IT incident management and escalation, ensuring effective communication of status, plans, and actions to executive management and the Government customer.
  • Collaborating with GNOSC Watch Officers and Event Team, while leading, training, and managing GNOSC MST personnel on IT Incident Management requirements.
  • Actively participating in Mission Execution Team working group meetings.
  • Assisting the MDA GNOSC Event team by supporting the Mission Execution Team (MET) during Flight Test execution.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert on network transport and service delivery for all MDA/IC capabilities required for test execution.
  • Working with Network Operations Center personnel to create the 'Event Preparedness Checklist' for all MA-1 events.
  • Coordinating the Mission Support Schedule to ensure all CIO assets support event requirements effectively.
  • Providing post-event recommendations, 'Lessons Learned,' and 'Hot Wash' inputs.
  • Coordinating with Change Management and key leadership to ensure service levels for the IT Services organization are met.
  • Leading troubleshooting efforts in dynamic, time-constrained scenarios involving network, systems, and application engineers.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Coordination skills with GNOSC Manager, GNOSC Event Team Lead, and Watch Officers to meet defined service levels.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Proficiency in developing comprehensive and detailed drawings.
  • Adherence to documented processes and procedures, providing feedback for updates as necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Basic Requirements:

  • One of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) with 14 years of general experience; Associate's degree with 12 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree with 10 years of general experience; Master's degree with 8 years of general experience.
  • 8 years of experience in Firewall configuration and troubleshooting across multiple network types (i.e., LAN, WAN, VxLAN, SDN) or managing VoIP Telecommunications infrastructures.
  • 2 years of experience in a management or leadership role.
  • A current DoD IAT Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE Certification or higher.
  • An active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

This position is expected to pay $123,000 - $148,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and relevant certifications.
