This role is vital to Teaspoon's success by guiding a team of baristas to uphold and enhance the Teaspoon Experience for our clientele and partners.
Primarily, this position involves supervising and directing the workforce, making staffing decisions (such as hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling), ensuring customer satisfaction and product excellence, managing the store's financial performance, and overseeing safety and security protocols within the store.
The individual in this role is responsible for exemplifying and acting in accordance with Teaspoon's core values.Key Responsibilities:
Essential duties and functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Leadership:
- Establishing objectives for the team, enhancing organizational capabilities, and demonstrating collaborative work practices:
- Maintaining composure during peak periods or unexpected events and facilitating smooth transitions to ensure the store operates to standard while setting a positive example for the team.
- Exhibiting a customer-first mentality by training and holding baristas accountable for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Driving the execution of company initiatives by formulating action plans and motivating the store team to achieve operational and organizational goals.
- Leading with integrity, transparency, and knowledge that fosters the culture, values, and mission of Teaspoon.
- Planning, communicating, and delegating appropriate responsibilities to ensure seamless operations.
- Providing guidance and direction to the team to take initiative and meet operational objectives.
Continuously assessing the store environment and key performance indicators to identify challenges, concerns, and opportunities for enhancement, providing coaching and direction to the team to meet operational goals.
Planning and Execution:- Developing strategic and operational plans for the team, managing
implementation, and evaluating outcomes:
- Monitoring and managing staffing levels to ensure barista development and talent acquisition to meet store operational needs.
- Utilizing available tools to prioritize communications and regularly exercising discretion to filter messages to the team. Communicating clearly, concisely, and accurately to ensure effective store operations.
- Providing functional expertise and executing responsibilities:
- Ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws for nonexempt employees and minors.
- Gathering customer feedback and proactively researching local markets to understand community needs.
- Employing all operational tools to plan for and achieve excellence in the store. Tools include scheduling software, performance reports, cash management, and inventory oversight.
- Analyzing financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in store performance.
- Offering coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities to baristas and fostering effective teams:
- Actively managing the team by conducting performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and setting ambitious goals to enhance team performance.
- Inspiring and challenging the team to achieve business objectives.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and operational standards.
- Recognizing and celebrating individual and team achievements through innovative and effective recognition methods.
- Demonstrating effective management principles to cultivate a successful team environment where members feel valued and respected.
