Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in transforming the electric pick-up truck and rugged SUV market by:
  • Driving project initiatives to optimize performance for Quality KPIs, including warranty metrics, customer satisfaction ratings, and internal evaluations.
  • Actively managing technical quality aspects within cross-functional teams focused on Body and Doors & Closures.
  • Assessing project change requests concerning cost, quality, and timelines.
  • Supporting the development of engineering solutions and addressing launch challenges while ensuring manufacturability at full scale.
  • Evaluating early project requests for their impact on Quality Assurance to guarantee a seamless launch.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive list of project strengths and weaknesses for ongoing improvement, ensuring follow-up on resolution outcomes.
  • Advocating for Scout's quality and process standards as the Voice of the Customer.
Location & Travel Requirements

This role necessitates regular attendance at in-person meetings and events. It will be based at the Scout Motors facility. Expect to collaborate with colleagues in person and travel for company events as needed.

Qualifications

We expect all Scouts to embody integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, and a positive, growth-oriented mindset. You should thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and take a collaborative approach to meet ambitious objectives. Additionally, you will bring:
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience in Manufacturing, Quality, or a related automotive role, particularly focused on Body or Doors & Closures; OEM experience is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is desired.
  • A solid understanding of product development and engineering requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with automotive systems and component design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in high-volume quality manufacturing engineering is advantageous.
  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing plant launches.
  • Familiarity with Supplier Quality and all aspects of APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, and PPAP.
  • Technical insight from both OEM and Supply Chain perspectives, including aspects like flushness and gaps.
  • Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written, across various organizational levels.
  • The ability to identify tasks, develop methodologies, and execute with minimal supervision to ensure project success.
  • A strong grasp of quality systems and processes.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, effectively engaging with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to manage multiple assignments with competing priorities.
  • Capability to define Quality test cases for validating customer visibility.
  • Technical understanding of current vehicle status to promote design for manufacturability and repairability.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible for a base salary and participation in an annual performance bonus program. The final salary will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is predetermined and not dependent on individual candidates.

Initial base salary range = $95,000-$115,000
