Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated individual capable of applying standard engineering methodologies to deliver construction materials testing and special inspection services under the guidance of department and branch managers, as well as senior engineers.

This role may involve conducting field investigations, performing engineering analyses and calculations, and preparing and reviewing reports for the services rendered.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, select, and implement standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria to ensure high-quality engineering services.
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, specifications, and other project-related data.
  • Maintain project budgets, oversee record-keeping, and conduct materials testing and inspections.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, special inspectors, administrative personnel, sub-consultants, and contractors.
  • Prepare and review technical reports and correspondence.
  • Manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Supervise, direct, and mentor engineering technicians, special inspectors, and subcontractors as needed.
  • Conduct field testing and site visits, including testing and inspecting soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials across various locations.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of project reports.
  • Maintain accuracy in billing items related to projects.
  • Foster excellent client relations through prompt responses and effective communication.
  • Provide input regarding client needs to the Project Manager.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technologies, or a related discipline, along with typically 3-4 years of relevant experience. ACI and ICC Special Inspector Certifications are required, and E.I.T. certification may be beneficial.

Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent customer service abilities, and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team are essential. Candidates should be self-motivated, organized, and performance-driven.

Successful candidates must be willing to undergo and pass F&R's pre-employment screening, which includes a background check, drug screening, and driving record assessment.
