Hourly Rate: $12-$17 (GS 1-4)
Reports to: Office Manager
Position Type: Full or Part-time
Summary:
The receptionist plays a crucial role in managing the front office and performing various administrative tasks. Responsibilities include welcoming clients, answering phone calls, addressing company inquiries, processing payments, maintaining organized records, and executing other clerical functions. This position supports both management and staff by facilitating daily office operations and contributing to the overall administrative framework of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome and assist all clients visiting the office; engage with the public via phone and in-person interactions.
- Confirm client details and insurance coverage.
- Learn and apply de-escalation techniques to handle potentially stressful situations.
- Ensure a safe and tidy work environment.
Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant software.
- Accurate and efficient data entry capabilities.
- Dependable with a strong attendance record.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Ability to multitask, solve problems, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Adaptable to a dynamic work environment, including exposure to varying noise levels.
- Physical requirements include prolonged sitting, bending, lifting, and walking.
- Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in billing and insurance processes is advantageous.
