Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced Music Department Leader to join our team at Richland One. As a Band Director, you will be responsible for planning and presenting innovative music programs for students of various ages and skill levels.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging music curricula that cater to diverse student needs and interests.
  • Teach multiple instruments and music theory classes as assigned.
  • Create a positive and productive learning environment that fosters musical growth and creativity.
  • Prepare lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and maintain high-quality music programs.
  • Supervise teaching assistants and volunteers as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A valid South Carolina teaching certificate or eligibility for one.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires moderate physical effort, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 20 pounds, and using office equipment. You should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
