About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at Lochner. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing and developing heavy civil design projects, focusing on transportation-related structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor department and project staff, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and sub-consultants, agencies, and reviewers to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
  • Manage and maintain project documentation, including meeting project schedules, budgets, and scope.
  • Review structural engineering calculations and plans from preliminary to final design, and develop specifications and reports.
  • Lead proposal development, scope of work, and fee schedule preparation.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of structural design experience, primarily in surface transportation, with a strong all-around theoretical knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to client service, both internal and external.
  • A PE is required, and an SE is highly desirable.
  • A BSCE is required, and a MSCE is a plus.
  • Flexible schedule available.
  • Practical structural design experience, and a demonstrated ability to work to budgets and schedules.
