Job Overview

Kinkaid Civil Construction is a leading civil construction company that operates as both a General Contractor and Subcontractor. We specialize in site utility installation, earthwork, and concrete, and offer a competitive compensation package to our employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and procure projects to bid on.
  • Prepare cost estimates for civil projects ranging from $250,000 to $100 million.
  • Utilize bidding software efficiently, such as HCSS Heavy Bid, Hard Dollar, and others.
  • Develop professional relationships with material vendors and subcontractors.
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning, and forecasting.
  • Lead bid review with superintendents and project managers.
  • Regularly visit job sites to gain a firm understanding of site conditions and restrictions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering, or 3-4+ years of civil construction estimating experience.
  • Ability to perform and price quantity takeoff for earthwork and civil utility scopes.
  • Ability to quantify risks on individual projects and plan to minimize those risks and their impact.
  • Firm understanding and ability to keep up to date with current municipal construction specifications and details.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in construction software systems, such as HCSS Heavy Bid, HCSS Heavy Job, Plan Swift Take Off, and Foundation Accounting Software.
  • Knowledge of street and highway traffic rules and regulations, and safety precautions to be observed in working on or near highways and in busy urban areas.
  • Limited travel may be required, with all work currently local to the Phoenix metropolitan area.
