Summary/Objective


Reporting to the VP of Programs, the Parts Repair Operations Manager is tasked with maintaining optimal inventory levels for repaired and overhauled components based on market demand and acquisitions.

This role involves overseeing repair cycles for all components, negotiating and executing agreements with repair vendors, nurturing relationships with existing suppliers, and identifying new vendors as necessary.

The ideal candidate is self-driven and eager to enhance their skills within a vibrant and evolving work environment.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily assessments of inventory and sales to coordinate repair orders, approve quotes, and liaise with repair vendors to ensure prompt delivery of services.
  • Manage a network of suppliers to enhance quality, cost-effectiveness, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the vendor network and its performance for Safran Companies.
  • Source new suppliers when necessary to address capability gaps, performance issues, or turnaround time challenges.
  • Ensure repair charges align with agreements and maintain the repair pricing catalog; responsible for updates and applications by vendors.
  • Thoroughly understand all contracts, ensuring proper execution, and negotiate new pricing and commercial terms with external suppliers.
  • Address specific issues related to repair orders, facilitate resolutions, and assist the technical department with recurring repair and technical challenges.
  • Ensure critical repair information, including repair codes, parts notes, service bulletin details, and reworked alternate parts lineage, is accurately recorded in the ERP system.
  • Oversee warranty and guarantee administration, including identifying potential claims and managing actual claims.
  • Resolve issues related to vendor quality and performance, and plan recovery or backup solutions to ensure the availability of overhauled materials.
  • Create presentations, reports, and strategic insights for leadership.
  • Provide updates to the organization regarding the status of parts in repair and any unexpected availability issues.
  • Mentor and guide Repair Coordinators.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office setting and routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively.

The employee frequently needs to stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, and reach with hands and arms.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or a related field with a minimum of two years of aviation experience.
  • Alternatively, at least five years of experience in aviation supply chain repairs may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Understanding of repair chain management procedures and workflow activities.
  • Knowledge of engine or aircraft maintenance manuals.
  • Ability to lead others through direct and indirect influence.
  • Advanced communication skills across various platforms including phone, email, video, and in-person.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position may include supervisory responsibilities depending on the candidate's qualifications.
