Civil Rights Training Specialist

At the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, we are committed to creating a campus free from discrimination and harassment. As a Civil Rights Training Specialist, you will play a vital role in this effort.

Under the direction of the Assistant Director for Institutional Equity and Compliance/Title IX Coordinator, you will provide training for the campus community on Title IX, discrimination, harassment, and other related topics. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and conducting training related to equal opportunity, nondiscrimination, and the prevention of sexual misconduct for UNL students and employees in compliance with law and university policy.
  • Tracking training participation and identifying opportunities to increase training completion.
  • Surveying the campus community to identify gaps in training, barriers to reporting, and other matters related to civil rights compliance.
  • Partnering with university communications to share information with the campus community.
  • Creating reports and presentations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant training and communications experience; equivalent education/experience considered.
  • Familiarity with learning management platforms and other educational technologies.
  • Proficiency in the use of Zoom, Microsoft Office programs, and applications used for designing training programs.
  • Experience developing and facilitating training programs for adults and best practices in online education.
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in working on diverse groups and teams.
