Job Description

At Ovation Workplace Services Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Desktop Support Technician to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing top-notch hardware and software support to our employees and incoming new hires.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hardware and software support to employees and new hires, including imaging and installing software on Windows and Apple laptops/desktops.
  • Troubleshoot post-deployment issues on multiple computer platforms, including Windows, Macintosh, and mobile devices.
  • Perform printer break-fix and installation, disposal, redeployment, and asset reclaim.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for dispatch support and identify and resolve hardware and software application conflicts.
  • Manage the classification, assignment, tracking, and completion of service requests or incidents.
  • Responsible for asset tagging and entering all incoming equipment into our asset management system.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to properly onboard incoming new hires and ensure that hardware is properly assigned and updated into our management system.
  • Provide weekly reports on physical inventory counts and record weekly outflows of hardware equipment.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of IT experience, including technical training.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Macintosh platforms, including portables, and Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Experience with imaging Windows 10 OS and basic network concepts, such as TCP/IP, Windows Networking, and Ethernet.
  • Networked printer experience, including queue creation and server maintenance.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in teams and in a team environment.
  • Aptitude for learning and excellent oral and written communication skills.
