Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Detection and Response engineer to join our security team at Apple. In this critical role, you will play a key part in ensuring the security of our systems and infrastructure used to manage, build, and distribute our software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the initial response to security incidents, ensuring quick and effective action to mitigate threats.
  • Coordinate with corporate Threat Response and other relevant teams to manage the incident lifecycle efficiently.
  • Conduct thorough post-incident analysis to understand the cause and impact of security incidents.
  • Develop recommendations for preventing future incidents and improving security posture.
  • Develop and refine detection mechanisms for identifying security incidents.
  • Create and update incident response and recovery runbooks, ensuring they are comprehensive and effective.
  • Triage and track risks identified through various security processes.
  • Collaborate with the PM team to drive the remediation of risks within accepted timelines.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in incident response, security operations, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and incident handling procedures.
  • Experience in developing security incident response strategies and runbooks.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience with python, perl, golang, bash, kubernetes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., GCIH, CISSP).
What We Offer

At Apple, we offer a comprehensive compensation package, including base pay, benefits, and opportunities for professional growth and development. Our base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

We also offer a range of benefits, including comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
