Position Summary:

The role is designed to foster a remarkable experience that consistently provides valuable services aimed at building enduring customer relationships. Responsibilities include delivering teller services such as processing deposits, withdrawals, cashing checks, and executing change orders with precision. Utilize sound judgment to ensure the legitimacy of transactions, escalating any concerns to a higher authority as necessary. Uphold a professional demeanor in both appearance and conduct.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement:

  • Adhere to Southside Bank's customer service protocols during every interaction.
  • Deliver services with accuracy and efficiency to instill customer confidence.
  • Achieve or surpass all operational and sales targets set by management, including balancing and attendance.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to thank customers and resolve any issues as directed.
  • Be knowledgeable about the bank's products and services, clearly articulating their benefits to customers.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities during customer transactions and respond to the needs of new and potential clients.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Communicate account details to customers accurately.

Operational Standards:

  • Comply with established policies and procedures to prevent fraudulent activities.
  • Follow compliance protocols and verify the accuracy of transaction reporting.
  • Maintain cash drawer limits and adhere to balancing standards daily.
  • Process customer deposits and cash checks within authorized limits, seeking approval for larger transactions.
  • Perform additional customer services such as selling official checks and processing loan payments accurately.
  • Adhere to audit policies and procedures relevant to this role.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws.

Team Collaboration:

  • Foster a supportive and positive environment for both customers and colleagues.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team atmosphere within the branch.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through training and relevant associations.
  • Assist with branch opening and closing procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Uphold the policies and procedures established by Southside Bank.
  • Maintain a positive atmosphere aligned with the bank's mission.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to all customers and team members.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through training and seminars.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Preferred experience includes a minimum of 6 months in cash handling or customer service.
  • Proficient in typing, data entry, and using a 10-key calculator.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Completion of required training programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain stationary for a significant portion of the workday.
  • Frequent operation of office equipment such as computers and printers.
  • Ability to move around the branch to assist customers and access equipment.
  • Must be able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds of coin.

Work Environment:

  • Indoor office setting with adequate lighting and ventilation.
  • Moderate noise levels typical of a business office.
