Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative plays a crucial role in the promotion and sales of our extensive range of pipe, valves, fittings, and related products. This position focuses on enhancing company revenue through the cultivation of robust customer relationships, generating new business opportunities, addressing customer inquiries, and supporting marketing strategies. You will collaborate with both inside and outside account managers to optimize revenue streams and provide outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a positive customer service environment for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate quotes to customers based on detailed product specifications.
  • Assist the Outside Sales team by ensuring a seamless customer service experience through prompt quotations and order management.
  • Handle customer inquiries via phone, ensuring their needs are effectively met.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by following up on orders and expediting processes when necessary.
  • Collaborate with management and outside sales representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Engage with vendors and manufacturers to strengthen partnerships and stay informed about new products and technologies.
  • Review daily reports to ensure timely fulfillment of backorders and complete customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with purchasing to source non-stock items when inventory is unavailable.
  • Close sales both independently and in partnership with the Outside Sales team.
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service at all times.
  • Coordinate quotations and sales orders using the Company's sales software in conjunction with our warehouse management system.
  • Adhere to established departmental policies, procedures, and quality improvement objectives.
  • Manage customer projects throughout their lifecycle to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Market and promote all available service-related offerings of the Company.
  • Support warehouse operations, sales counter, and will-call services to enhance customer experience when necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the facility.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to build rapport with both internal and external customers effectively.
  • Positive attitude with the capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Proficient in general computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Service-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and telephone communication skills.

Required Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the commercial PVF industry is required.
  • Prior experience in sales of HVAC and boiler hydronic heating systems is essential.
  • Previous customer service experience is necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking are required.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity.
