Research Associate 1: A Key Role in Advancing Medical Knowledge

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate 1 to join our team in the Department of Pediatrics-Neonatology at the University of Miami Health System. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting research activities, conducting laboratory experiments, and advancing their expertise through continued education and training.
Key Responsibilities- Research Support: Conduct laboratory experiments on assigned research projects, ensuring all research is undertaken according to good research practice.
- Publication and Grant Preparation: Participate in the publication of significant results and assist in the preparation of manuscripts for publications and grant preparations.
- Specimen Collection and Analysis: Collect, prepare, analyze, dissect, and evaluate specimens or tissue cultures.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Animal Colony Maintenance: Maintain animal colonies and perform genome sequencing.
- Statistical Analysis: Perform calculations to complete research test results, collect data, and perform statistical analysis of laboratory results.
- Other Duties: Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned, adhering to University and unit-level policies and procedures.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Skills: Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines, and process and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Work Environment: Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary, and commit to the University's core values.
- Collaboration: Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
