Overview:
The University of Miami is seeking an Advanced Mammography Technician to join our team at the Lennar Foundation Medical Center in Coral Gables. This role involves executing intricate procedures in Mammography while utilizing radiographic technology to produce optimal diagnostic images with minimal radiation exposure.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and coordinate scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental imaging procedures.
2. Perform diagnostic imaging studies under the guidance of a radiologist while supervising other staff as needed.
3. Contribute to the training and education of new medical personnel.
4. Collaborate with radiologists and researchers to develop innovative imaging protocols and techniques.
5. Engage in research initiatives and assist in protocol development.
6. Lead daily operations in the absence of the Chief Technologist or Radiology Manager.
7. Ensure accuracy in charging for procedures and supplies on a daily basis.

Patient Interaction:
1. Review and verify Mammography orders to ensure appropriateness and accuracy.
2. Establish rapport with patients to identify their service needs.
3. Confirm patient identity by checking their details against medical records.
4. Obtain necessary consents and provide education regarding procedures.

Technical Skills:
1. Execute specialized tasks associated with Mammography equipment while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
2. Adapt examinations based on diagnostic and patient history.
3. Maintain high standards of quality in Mammography scans.
4. Assist in positioning patients correctly for imaging procedures.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program is required.
Licensing: Valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer; ARRT certification in Mammography is mandatory. CPR and BLS certifications are also required.
Experience: A minimum of three years of relevant experience is necessary.
