Job Overview
Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) seeks a skilled professional to fill the position of Health Promotion and Social Determinants Specialist in the Social and Environmental Determinants for Health Equity Department.

About the Position
This role involves supporting the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Strategy and Plan of Action on Health Promotion within the context of the Sustainable Development Goals 2019-2030. The incumbent will lead the execution and monitoring of the Urban Governance for Health and Well-being initiative in the Americas, formulate and coordinate the work plan, chronogram, and budget of the Urban Governance for health and wellbeing project.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support on local governance for health and wellbeing initiatives. This includes coordinating with public institutions and international cooperation agencies to develop effective health promotion strategies and policies. Additionally, the individual will contribute to the formulation of the work plan, chronogram, and budget of the Urban Governance for health and wellbeing project, as well as monitor its progress and outcomes.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in public health, health policy, or a relevant field from a recognized university. Seven years of combined national and international experience in public institutions and/or international cooperation agencies, working in coordination, planning, and/or evaluation of public health projects is required. Experience in health promotion, social determinants of health, local governance, and equity is essential. Very good knowledge of Spanish or English with a working knowledge of the other language is necessary. Demonstrated ability to effectively use current technology and software, spreadsheets, and presentations is also required.

Remuneration
The monthly salary for this position is $5,343.42 (net of taxes), and a post adjustment of $3,751.08 applies.
