Senior Vice President of Operational Engineering

Provide strategic leadership and oversight in the domains of policy formulation, compliance adherence, procedural implementation, risk evaluation and mitigation, customer service level agreement (SLA) compliance, maintenance protocols, safety standards, and workforce development.

This position is vital for guaranteeing that the organization’s data centers operate reliably, securely, and efficiently, thereby supporting the essential business operations of the company.


Key Responsibilities:


Collaborate closely with various CyrusOne Operations teams, including Solutions Engineering, Design, and Construction, to ensure that facilities achieve high standards of availability, reliability, efficiency, and productivity, all while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.

Oversee and manage the daily operations of site facilities to guarantee 100% uptime.
Supervise the daily performance of the CyrusOne Facilities Reliability Group.
Develop innovative strategies to lower operational costs and enhance infrastructure utilization.

Lead project initiatives with field operations and cross-functional teams to identify necessary engineering modifications in infrastructure systems, define project scope, prioritize tasks, schedule, and execute projects effectively.

Engage in data center capacity and roadmap planning alongside sales, implementation, customer success, and portfolio management to optimize data center space allocation.

Possess a comprehensive understanding of customer SLAs and engineering-specific lease obligations pertaining to data center operations.

Work in partnership with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of data center operations with IT systems and services, fostering effective communication across teams.

Establish operational standards and ensure compliance across the entire portfolio.

Qualifications:
Over 10 years of experience in a leadership role within data centers or critical infrastructure.
Proficient in generating technical documentation and analyzing schematics and development drawings.

Experience with critical infrastructure systems that support data centers, including power distribution, airflow management, environmental monitoring, capacity planning, DCIM software, structured cabling, and cable management.

Proven track record in developing teams and nurturing future leaders.
Ability to align CyrusOne’s core values with the execution of organizational strategies.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset to devise innovative solutions for complex challenges.
International experience is advantageous.

Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Work Environment:
Capability to remain seated at a computer terminal for extended periods.
Willingness to participate in regular meetings across multiple international time zones.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including international travel.
