Job Title: Policy Officer Lead

Maximus is seeking a highly skilled Policy Officer Lead to join our team and support an exciting DoD mission. As a Policy Officer Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of policy development specialists in creating and editing policy documents, reports, and other related materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of policy development specialists in creating and editing policy documents, reports, and other related materials.
  • Conduct research and analysis to ensure the use of proper policy and technical terminology.
  • Compose documents, including DoD policy drafts, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training materials, guides, and reports.
  • Edit functional descriptions, system specifications, technical activities, and their outcomes, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents.
  • Conduct policy research relevant to SAP and related secure programs.
  • Establish the overall organizational layout and editorial standards of the submissions.
  • Work with the client Front Office to develop a consistent, uniform style and language as applied to the SAP community.
  • Manage the schedule, assignments, and meetings associated with all narratives and submissions.
Requirements:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree required; 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • Minimum 7 years of demonstrable experience in writing policy.
  • Minimum 4 years of related management experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience supporting the DoD or IC in any policy or related management function.
Desired Skills:
  • Masters degree in any policy or technology related field.
  • Policy experience related to any SAP or similar program preferred.
  • Experience as titled manager or policy creations leader/officer.
  • Experience with DoD and/or the IC relating to policies, instructions, or guidance formation/development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
