Location Overview

Situated along the picturesque shores of Lake Michigan, Wingspread Retreat & Executive Conference Center features three distinct buildings set within 36 acres of beautiful natural surroundings. The centerpiece of this remarkable complex is the original structure designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, known as Wingspread. Additionally, the property includes a modern 40-room Guest House and a conference facility. With over 15,000 square feet of meeting space certified by the International Association of Conference Centers, guests enjoy inspiring views of the surrounding nature. This venue is designed to meet all the needs of groups in a secluded yet accessible location.

Position Summary

The Conference Services Attendant plays a crucial role in the setup, movement, and breakdown of all conference center equipment across various properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare meeting and dining rooms in accordance with function sheets or BEO, confirming details with the Guest Services Manager or Conference Planning Manager.
  • Disassemble rooms post-event.
  • Set up standard audio/visual equipment as requested, demonstrating proficiency with all relevant technology, including Crestron panels, videoconferencing, and more.
  • Assist guests with PowerPoint presentations.
  • Maintain a positive and friendly demeanor towards guests and colleagues.
  • Return equipment to designated storage areas and ensure these areas are organized.
  • Perform cleaning duties in public areas as assigned, including window washing, mopping, carpet cleaning, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Assist with furniture relocation during cleaning projects and complete daily cleaning tasks.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Undertake other tasks as directed by the Conference Planning Manager or Guest Services Manager.
  • Stay vigilant for unusual circumstances and report them to management.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding ideas and issues.
  • Report any injuries immediately.
Qualifications

A valid driver's license is required. Proficiency in English communication is essential for interactions with guests and team members. Experience with technology and audio-visual systems is preferred.
