Senior Grant Administration Officer

In a vibrant academic environment, the Senior Grant Administration Officer plays a crucial role in managing pre-award processes for research funding. This position is integral to ensuring that grant applications and awards are meticulously handled in accordance with institutional and sponsor regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Grant Administration Officer reports to the Cluster Research Administrator and collaborates closely with various stakeholders, including Pre-Award Grant Administrators and Post-Award Grant Administrators. The role encompasses several key functions:

Award Review and Negotiation
  • Conducts thorough reviews and negotiations of extramural funding agreements.
  • Acts as the primary liaison with external funding agencies.
  • Facilitates the setup of awards in the financial management system, ensuring accurate maintenance throughout the award lifecycle.
  • Completes the internal routing process for award setup.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for complex funding scenarios, including program projects and training grants.

Proposal Management
  • Oversees the review and submission of external proposals, ensuring compliance with federal and sponsor guidelines.
  • Utilizes various sponsor systems for proposal submissions.
  • Collaborates with Proposal Specialists to establish necessary accounts for electronic submissions.

Subaward Management
  • Evaluates subaward requests to ensure compliance with overarching funding agreements.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in grants management within an academic or non-profit setting.
  • Strong understanding of NIH funding mechanisms and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving policies and regulations.
  • Proficient in financial reporting and accounting, with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Experience with financial systems and grant management standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in interactions with external sponsors.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in Research Administration (CRA, CPRA, CFRA) are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with financial management software.
  • Master's degree is a plus.

Work Arrangement:

This position is designated for remote work. The work mode may be reviewed periodically to align with the institution's needs.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $54,000 and $100,493.33, depending on individual qualifications and experience.
