Senior Grants Compliance Officer

In a vibrant academic environment, the Senior Grants Compliance Officer plays a pivotal role in managing pre-award processes within the research cluster. This position is essential for ensuring that grant applications and awards adhere to institutional and sponsor guidelines, thereby supporting the mission of advancing knowledge and social equity.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Grants Compliance Officer reports to the Cluster Research Administrator and collaborates closely with the Pre-Award Grant Administrator and other team members. The primary responsibilities include:

Award Review and Negotiation
  • Thoroughly reviews and negotiates external funding agreements.
  • Acts as the primary liaison with external funding agencies.
  • Establishes and maintains awards in the financial management system, ensuring accuracy throughout the award lifecycle.
  • Completes the internal routing process for award setup.
  • Serves as the go-to expert for complex funding scenarios, including program projects and training grants.

Proposal Development and Submission
  • Oversees the review and submission of grant proposals, ensuring compliance with federal and sponsor requirements.
  • Utilizes various sponsor systems for proposal submissions.
  • Collaborates with Proposal Specialists to facilitate account creation in eRA Commons.

Subaward Management
  • Evaluates subaward requests and ensures compliance with the primary award terms.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in grants management within a university or non-profit setting.
  • Strong understanding of NIH funding mechanisms and grant compliance.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in financial reporting and Excel.
  • Experience with financial systems and grants management standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Research Administration (CRA or CPRA) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Workday or similar systems.
  • Master's degree is a plus.

Telework Policy:

This position is designated as Telework. The university regularly reviews work mode designations to adapt to changing needs.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $54,000 and $100,493.33, influenced by individual qualifications and experience.
