Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Disability and Leave Specialist to join our team at Stanford University. As a key member of our Human Resources Services department, you will play a critical role in coordinating disability and family leaves for all faculty and staff, ensuring a smooth return to work process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate disability and family leaves, working closely with third-party vendors and local HR partners to facilitate complex disability and family leave processes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to employee inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage case files, perform payroll transactions, and communicate with employees and HR partners to ensure seamless leave processes.
  • Collaborate with the Disability and Leave Services team to design and implement department communications and work processes.
  • Participate in compliance audits and represent University HR to Stanford on disability programs, policies, or initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant benefits experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Strong customer service experience and a proven ability to meet performance standards.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle highly sensitive and personal information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex benefit concepts in an understanding and empathetic manner.
