Comprehensive Overview:
The College of Arts & Sciences at the University of San Diego is seeking to appoint three faculty members for the Postdoctoral Program who are dedicated to promoting the perspectives of the Latinx/Chicanx communities through teaching, research, and mentorship. We are committed to nurturing scholars who empower students from U.S. communities that are historically underrepresented in academia. This two-year postdoctoral faculty role is designed to commence in the upcoming academic term. The following departments/programs are interested in hosting a postdoctoral faculty member:
- Art History (AA+AH)
- Chemistry & Biochemistry
- Communication
- Psychological Sciences
- Visual Arts (AA+AH)
The Diversity Postdoctoral Faculty Program aims to mentor faculty in achieving teaching excellence within the context of a primarily undergraduate institution in Catholic Higher Education and to foster inclusive environments within departments at the University. USD is positioned to serve as a valuable resource for faculty aspiring to pursue an academic career that embodies the teacher/scholar model. The Diversity Postdoctoral faculty position spans two years. Postdoctoral faculty will instruct courses in their area of expertise, advance their research agendas, collaborate closely with faculty mentors in their departments, and engage in the faculty development initiatives offered by the College of Arts & Sciences. Candidates must have completed their PhD or other terminal degree prior to the start date. Preference will be given to candidates who have not previously held a tenure-track faculty position.
