Job Overview

Prime Machine is on the lookout for a dedicated Quality Assurance Manager to enhance our dynamic team.

The Quality Assurance Manager will play a pivotal role in formulating, sustaining, and refining Quality policies and protocols within a manufacturing environment. This encompasses conducting internal evaluations of our quality systems, collaborating with external quality assessors (including Customer and Certification Auditors), upholding current and future certifications, conveying customer requirements, and monitoring the organization's performance in fulfilling them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, sustain, and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) for Prime Machine, including our manuals and operational practices.
  • Conduct audits to ensure adherence to QMS standards, covering all procedures.
  • Establish Corrective and Preventive Action initiatives to implement lasting solutions.
  • Participate in weekly Sales Meetings and deliver Quality Training to Project Managers, sharing insights to elevate our team's proficiency.
  • Engage in weekly Production Meetings, providing Quality Training to Production and Area Managers, and instructing others on their roles in Quality.
  • Carry out Quality Inspections as necessary, assisting in defining Project Requirements and ensuring Inspection Reporting is completed as required, which may involve creating Manufacturing and Quality Plans.
  • Equip Area Managers with materials essential for Quality and Skills Training for their teams.
  • Implement Non-Conformance Reporting tracking using Global Shop, providing Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions as necessary, ensuring effective implementation of corrective measures.
  • Develop and enforce Document Revision Control Procedures across all departments.
  • Collaborate with the Weld Department Manager to uphold ASME Weld Certifications.
  • Your involvement will be crucial in partnering with all Department Managers to maintain our AS9100 and ISO-9001 Certifications, ensuring our commitment to quality is consistently upheld.
  • Engage with independent Quality Auditors, supplying necessary documentation for AS9100 Certification and Customer Auditors.
  • Oversee all Material Review Board Activities.

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Ability to navigate through the manufacturing area, including walking, climbing on and around equipment, and lifting tools or components.
  • Capability to bend and crawl to achieve proper positions.
  • Ability to reach and stretch for tools and equipment.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • We seek a candidate with a comprehensive understanding of Quality Systems standards (ISO 9001, AS9100). Your expertise will be vital in upholding our high standards.
  • A candidate who has successfully developed and implemented a quality program.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 standards.
  • A broad understanding of Prime Machine's process equipment, manufacturing principles, mechanical design, and business practices.
  • Proficiency with personal computers.
  • Familiarity with geometric tolerance standards and their application to functional parts.
