Job Summary

Michelli Weighing & Measurement is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join their team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing technical services on industrial weighing and measurement equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Installation and Repair: Set up, install, and repair industrial weighing equipment in the shop and at customer sites, often working independently.
  • Transportation and Logistics: Drive a company-issued vehicle as required for the job and follow any state and local laws while operating the vehicle.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in the on-call rotation for service technicians.
  • Travel and Overtime: Travel is required via company vehicle, with occasional exceptions. Accept overtime work as necessary.
  • Quality Management: Meet ISO9001 Quality Management System objectives and follow processes.
  • Workplace Safety: WORK SAFELY – Accidents are preventable.
  • Customer Service: Greet customers with a warm and positive attitude.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Respect your co-workers and expect to be on-time and ready for work each day unless you notified your manager or supervisor otherwise.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Responsible for reporting directly with your assigned manager or supervisor.
  • Background Checks and Training: Agree to and must successfully pass ongoing Physical Exams, Background Screenings, Drug and Alcohol testing as required.
  • Safety Training: Agree to and must successfully pass ongoing safety training, both general and customer site-specific safety training.
  • Technical Training: Attend technical training sessions.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain an orderly work area and clean company vehicle.
  • Service Reports: Write neat and accurate service reports.
  • Communication: Carry a cell phone or paging device when on-duty or on-call.
  • Team Support: Willing to assist other co-workers when available or time permits.
Requirements
  • Low-Voltage Electronic Instrument Troubleshooting: Low-voltage electronic instrument troubleshooting and repair.
  • Tool Handling: Able to handle tools to perform repair activities.
  • Computer Skills: Able to use computers and mobile devices.
  • Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint programs and Web browsers.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Mechanical aptitude, understanding of mechanical movement concepts.
  • Technical Knowledge: Read and understand electronic schematic diagrams and technical manuals.
  • Driver's License: Possess and Maintain a valid State issued Driver's License.
  • Background Checks: Submit to and pass Pre-Employment Background Screen, Drug and Alcohol testing as required.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Electronics Education: Electronics Education preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to safely lift and walk 50 feet with a 50 lb test weight.
  • Weather Conditions: Work outdoors in cold and hot temperature extremes.
