Aerospace Workshop Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary:

The Aerospace Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production process in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure efficient execution of production orders, effective management of employees, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive production efficiency and productivity by monitoring and reporting on time and cost overruns.
  • Provide timely and effective resolution of production issues on the shop floor.
  • Recruit, train, and develop employees in the area of responsibility.
  • Supervise and motivate employees to achieve production goals and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS and quality regulations.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Manage production ERP transactions and requisitioning of consumables.
  • Meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Schedule resources and plan production centers.
  • Report technical deviations and participate in process improvement projects.

Requirements:

  • Two-year Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in production supervision, with a focus on aerospace manufacturing.
  • Experience with production ERP systems and 6-Sigma/lean production projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, and move around the production area.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
