POSITION: Aerospace Quality Inspector
STATUS: Contract to Hire, Hourly Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARYThe Aerospace Quality Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of aerospace components. This position involves a variety of essential functions that contribute to the overall integrity of the manufacturing process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Conducts thorough inspections of incoming, in-process, and final products to verify compliance with established specifications and standards.
- Prepares and reviews AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports, documenting necessary data accurately.
- Collaborates with engineering teams to suggest enhancements for work instructions and process improvements.
- Generates Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) within the quality management system to address any discrepancies.
- Ensures all job documentation is complete and conforms to quality standards throughout the inspection process.
- Utilizes precision measuring tools and equipment to perform inspections effectively.
- Operates small cranes to facilitate the movement of materials and components as needed.
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace, adhering to Environmental Health and Safety regulations.
- Performs additional duties as assigned to support the team and organizational goals.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Completion of specific on-the-job training to meet performance criteria.
- Mandatory completion of EHS regulatory training as outlined by the company's training matrix.
- Minimum of 3 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- At least 3 years of experience interpreting technical drawings and work instructions.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, SAP, and timekeeping software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive motions with hands and wrists.
- Close visual acuity is required for tasks such as data analysis, visual inspections, and operating machinery.
- Ability to work in noisy environments and adhere to safety protocols.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for specific tasks.
