Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Computer Technician to join our team at Recon Aerospace & Defense, Inc.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, repairing computer systems and subcomponents, and ensuring our customer support and product line infrastructure works properly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and configure computer hardware and software.
  • Install and maintain technological equipment.
  • Manage software and network systems.
  • Ensure data privacy and security.
  • Perform regular system upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Install and configure GPS, LAN, and WAN networks.
  • Manage customer network components, including servers, IPs, and GIS data.
  • Implement customer security solutions.
  • Document repairs and fixes, and collaborate with accounting.
  • Provide technical support, including after-hours assistance.
  • Train and collaborate with other team members.
  • Install and manage mapping databases.
  • Test and install complex avionics and mapping systems on aircraft or spacecraft.
  • Perform reliable soldering on navigation and mapping system components.
  • Assemble and install electrical components.
  • Analyze flight test data to diagnose system malfunctions.
  • Coordinate work with engineers, technicians, and aircraft maintenance staff.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a computer technician.
  • BA in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Relevant diploma or certification an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with GPS networks and mapping systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer and mapping systems, internet security, and data privacy.
  • Outstanding troubleshooting skills.
  • Good time-management and multitasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attendance and personal hygiene.
  • Experience in aviation or related field.
  • Knowledge of Windows 7 and 10 operating systems.
