Air Traffic Management Specialist

Position Overview:
The Air Traffic Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft within designated airspace. This role involves the provision of separation for aircraft operating under both IFR and VFR procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate radar and communication systems to maintain radar separation standards and implement vectoring procedures.
2. Identify and rectify equipment malfunctions and interferences.
3. Provide pilots with speed, altitude, and directional instructions to ensure safe separation of aircraft.
Advisory Services:
Offer comprehensive air traffic advisory services to pilots, including operational clearances, weather updates, field conditions, and safety alerts.
Training and Development:
Facilitate training for developmental air traffic controllers and other personnel, encompassing technical functions related to training, briefings, and quality assurance.
Supervisory Duties:
Provide oversight for continuous facility operations in the absence of a supervisor, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet specific qualifications by the closing date of the vacancy announcement. Males born after December 31, 1959, must register with the Selective Service. A background investigation may be required.
Experience Requirements:
Specialized experience is necessary for Certified Professional Controller (CPC) positions, including facility rating or area certification in an ATO terminal/en route facility.
Important Considerations:
This position may involve a probationary period and requires maintaining medical and security clearances. It is subject to the Department of Transportation's Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
