Job Summary

The Metropolitan State University of Denver is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as a Peer Mentoring Program Specialist. This is a full-time, exempt position that will play a critical role in the development and implementation of a comprehensive peer-mentoring program that supports the academic and career success of MSU Denver students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Develop and implement a peer-mentoring program that aligns with the university's strategic goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to design and deliver a comprehensive program that addresses the diverse needs of MSU Denver students.
    • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of student peer mentors who will provide support and guidance to their peers.
  • Student Support and Engagement
    • Provide individualized support and guidance to students who are participating in the peer-mentoring program.
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase student engagement and retention.
    • Collaborate with campus partners to provide resources and support to students.
  • Program Evaluation and Assessment
    • Develop and implement a plan to evaluate the effectiveness of the peer-mentoring program.
    • Collect and analyze data to assess the program's impact on student outcomes.
    • Make recommendations for program improvement based on data analysis.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners to promote the peer-mentoring program.
    • Collaborate with campus partners to develop and implement strategies to increase student engagement and retention.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with students in a higher education setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with program development and implementation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Knowledge of student development theory and practice.
  • Experience with program evaluation and assessment.
Work Environment

This is a full-time, exempt position that will work primarily on campus. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $47,300 - $61,800 per year, depending on experience. The university offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, vision, and dental insurance, as well as a retirement plan and other benefits.
