Job Overview

The Culinary Preparation Specialist plays a crucial role in the kitchen by handling the preparation of various cooking ingredients, which includes washing and chopping vegetables, as well as cutting meats and other essential meal components.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares and produces food items according to the daily production list for the food court, dining establishments, Team Member Dining Room, and special events.
  • Utilizes sharp knives and electrical kitchen equipment safely, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Ensures all food items are dated and rotated according to the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method.
  • Maintains organization within the walk-in refrigerators and freezers.
  • Follows par level guidelines as established by the Executive Chef.
  • Adheres closely to the recipes and procedures set forth by the Executive Chef.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing prep areas and other kitchen spaces as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Completes assigned cleaning duties, including floor maintenance and waste disposal.
  • Follows health and personal hygiene policies specific to the Food & Beverage department.
  • Assists in various kitchen tasks as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Team Members may encounter secondhand tobacco smoke, particularly those working in designated areas. The noise level in the kitchen is typically moderate but may occasionally rise to higher levels during peak times.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be capable of sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours.
  • Frequent lifting, reaching, twisting, bending, and squatting is required.
  • Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds with assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum age requirement is 18 years.
  • Must possess or obtain a Food Handlers Card within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Must comply with pre-employment, random, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid gaming license as required.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, is necessary based on departmental needs.
